Sri Lanka Police have announced traffic restrictions on the the Badulla-Bibile Road between the 143rd and 144th kilometer posts due to an ongoing earthslip risk.

The road will be open from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM today (25) but will remain closed from 6:00 PM until 6:00 AM tomorrow (26).

Traffic limitations were initially imposed on November 18, 2024, following the earthslip. Inspections by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) and the Road Development Authority (RDA) were conducted yesterday (24) to assess the site's safety.

Police have advised that road opening hours could change depending on weather conditions and said that officers from the Passara Police Station are on-site to manage traffic and ensure public safety.
