The World Bank Group has extended its congratulations to newly elected President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
 In a letter to the President, Martin Raiser, Vice President for South Asia, and Riccardo Puliti, Vice President for the Asia and Pacific Region of the International Finance Corporation, highlighted the importance of this election for Sri Lanka's future.

Acknowledging the challenges posed by the country's ongoing economic reset, the officials emphasized the significant potential for growth and development in Sri Lanka.
They expressed confidence that under New President’s leadership, the country will leverage its strengths to advance its development agenda.

The World Bank Group also reaffirmed its support to the new administration.
