A person has been injured and hospitalized following a police shooting in the Pallimulla area of Panadura.

The incident happened when Panadura North Police attempted to stop a lorry at a checkpoint for a search operation. After the lorry ignored instructions and continued moving suspiciously, police opened fire. One person inside the lorry was injured and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Police reported that the lorry was illegally transporting cattle at the time of the incident.
