Former Parliamentarian Padma Udayashantha Gunasekara has denied claims that he recently returned a state vehicle, labeling the information as false. The new administration had released a list indicating that Mr Gunasekara had returned a Toyota Hilux.

In a statement on social media, Gunasekara refuted the claims, asserting that he has not used a government vehicle and clarified his political status. "I served as a Member of Parliament until 2020 and have since exited politics for personal reasons," he said.

He expressed concern over the misuse of his name and urged authorities to take legal action if they find evidence of his use of a state vehicle as stated in the list.
