President Maithripala Sirisena said that the Gazette Notification on the 20th Amendment should be considered as a guideline for the electoral reforms to be introduced and is not the final version.
Speaking today at the opening of the new administration building at Kotikawatta-Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha, he pointed out that the Gazette Notification has introduced a basis upon which other ideas could also be incorporated.
He added that additional points could be discussed in the courts, the parliament or even at social discussions so that new ideas could also be incorporated. He also said that no community should be sidelined through the electoral reforms.
