Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa raised speculations on the imminent dissolution of parliament a short while ago when he made a slip of the tongue during an exchange in parliament.

 

Deputy Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva tweeted: "In cross talk a little while back about answering a question in Parliament tomorrow speaker said IF there is a Parliament tomorrow!"

 

Speculations remained on the dissolution of parliament in parliamentary circles yesterday. The adjournment debate on the 20th Amendment started yesterday afternoon and is scheduled to be concluded today. It was speculated that the parliament will be dessolved tonight, following the conclusion of the debate.

 

Meanwhile, Tamil Progressive Alliance leader Mano Ganesan told media that the President had assured him of the dissolution of parliament tonight.
