Former Kurunegala District MP Salinda Dissanayake stated that former president Mahinda Rajapaksa will launch his election campaign on July 6.

 

He made this revelation at the SLFP Hiriyala Bala Mandala meeting at Ibbagamuwa yesterday.

 

Dissanayake said that Rajapaksa will launch his campaign from Anuradhapura on July 6 and will climb onto the stage that day.

 

He also said that President Maithripala Sirisena recently met the former president privatey. Sirisena made the request for the meeting, Dissanayake also stated.

 

Furthermore, he claimed that Sirisena promised the Prime Ministerial candidacy to Rajapaksa.
