Qatar Airways will roster a B787-8 to Colombo from September 1.

 

The Gulf carrier will add the Dreamliner on to one of its three daily services between Doha and the Sri Lankan capital.

 

Currently operated by an A330, flight QR664 departs Doha at 0045 and lands in Colombo at 0800, with return flight QR665 leaving Colombo at 0930 and arriving in Doha at 1130.

 

The B787-8 was originally scheduled to be added to the route on July 1, reports airlineroute.net.

 

Qatar Airways also operates flights QR656/657 and QR668/669 between Doha and Colombo; both are B777-300ER services.

 

Earlier this month, the airline's CEO Akbar Al Baker threatened to withdraw Qatar Airways from Oneworld if the ongoing open skies row continues.
