Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, who had been remanded over alleged money laundering linked to the Airbus case, was granted bail by the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today (30).
Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena ordered Rajapaksa’s release on cash bail of Rs. 500,000 and two surety bonds of Rs. 30 million each.
The Magistrate also imposed an overseas travel ban on Rajapaksa and directed that the order be communicated to the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration.
As an additional bail condition, Rajapaksa was ordered not to interfere with or influence witnesses in the case.
Rajapaksa had been held in remand custody in connection with the ongoing investigation into alleged money laundering linked to the Airbus case.
