The Disaster Management Center has announced that the lower Kadugannava section of the main Colombo-Kandy road will remain closed due to ongoing efforts to remove dangerous rocks along the roadway.
Pradeep Kodippili, Director of the Disaster Management Center, has advised drivers to use alternative routes. Motorists are encouraged to take the Colombo-Kurunegala highway and enter Kandy via the Galagedara road through Rambukkana. Another suggested route is the Gampola-Kandy road through Hemmathagama and Mawanella.
Authorities are working to ensure the safety of all road users and to expedite the removal process. Further updates will be provided as the situation progresses.
