The Constitutional Council will deliberate on President Ranil Wickremesinghe's proposal to extend Attorney General Sanjay Rajaratnam's service by six months. The meeting, led by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, is scheduled for today.

President Wickremesinghe recently recommended the extension as Attorney General Rajaratnam is set to retire on June 26. Speaker Abeywardana confirmed that necessary steps have been taken to seek legal clarifications on the matter.
