A statue resembling LTTE leader Velupillai Prabakaran installed in a private temple at Therkku Poigainallur village near Velankanni has caused a flutter in the locality, The Hindu reported.

The statue was installed on the campus of the Periyachi Amman Temple built in the village recently.

The life-sized statue resembling Prabakaran in camouflage uniform, with a horse in the background, was installed in the temple built by Manickam, said to be a DMK member. The temple was consecrated a few days back. Police sources said that no case has been registered so far in this connection.
