A report prepared by environmental organizations on the controversial issue of the resettlement within Wilpattu Sanctuary was presented to President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (June 5) at Presidential Secretariat.
President Sirisena assured that he would not let any person to damage the environment. He added he would take the final decision on the resettlement in related areas after he gets the reports from parties appointed by him to inquire into this issue.
The Maha Sanga presided by Athuraliye Rathana Thera, environmentalists including Attorney-at-Law Jagath Gunawardena, representatives of Jathika Sanga Sammelanaya, Pivithuru Hetak and other environmental organizations were among those participated at this event.
