UPFA MP Bandula Gunawardena said that there were 120 MPs who have already pledged to vote for the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister.
Speaking at a press briefing yesterday, Gunawardena said that the Prime Minister has dragged the country backwards by 25 years in the last few months.
He added that he does not ask for the dissolution of the Parliament through the no-confidence motion. What they ask is the replacement of the Prime Minister with a MP who enjoys the majority in parliament, Gunawardena said.
The no-confidence motion against the PM was handed over to the Parliament Secretary General on Friday. It was said to contain 112 signatures.
