Western Provincial Council Member Hirunika Premachandra lashed out at a recent mudslinging campaign against her by a Facebook Page calling itself “Sinhala Bodunuva”.

The Facebook Page claimed that she wears blouses which completely cover her back in order to hide a tattoo of a Buddha image. It was claimed that she had insulted the Buddha by this tattoo.

However, through her Facebook page, Premachandra pointed out that this picture has been downloaded from a website. She added that “when we are surrounded by hypocrite, ignorant loosers, they will use anything even religion to attack somebody.”

Premachandra also stated that this was just part of politics and asked her supporters to simply ignore these posts and claims.

The people who engage in these activities “have nothing more left to do now than throwing mud at people”, she pointed out.
