UPFA MP Sajin de Vass Gunawardena filed a Fundamental Rights petition with the Supreme Court today.

In the petition, he asked the Supreme Court to direct the Fort Magistrate Court to release him on bail.

Gunawardena is currently in remand custody over allegedly misusing 22 vehicles of the Presidential Secretariat.

On June 3, he was further remanded until June 17 by the Fort Magistrate.
