Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa 'praised' Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, saying that he does not engage in mudslinging politics unlike many others.

 

Speaking to a local newspaper, Rajapaksa said that many people who received his help later betrayed him. This is the nature of society, Rajapaksa said.

 

Meanwhile, he and his family are being subjected to continuous mudslinging campaigns, Rajapaksa added.

 

Rajapaksa also said that he does not have any grudge over media for using his image in political cartoons. He enjoys seeing them, he added. He also said that media portray a balanced view about him.
