Sri Lanka Freedom Party National Organizer Susil Premajayantha made an open request from all SLFP members to refrain from holding press conferences at various places.

 

Speaking at a press conference at SLFP headqurters this morning, Premajayantha said that such acts damage the party's image. He added that the SLFP headquarters was open for any member to address the press.

 

Premajayantha pointed out that there is a weekly press conference of the SLFP on each Wednesday. Any SLFP member could take part in this press conference and speak. SLFP is a democratic party and anyone can have their opinions, Premjayantha said. Therefore, anyone can speak, keeping their opinions within the limits of party's position, he explained.

 

Several SLFP MPs supporting former president Mahinda Rajapaksa have been taking part in press conferences at Abhayarama Temple in Colombo recently.
