Sri Lanka Freedom Party Spokesman Dilan Perera stated that the party wil bring its amendments to the 20th Amendment Bill when it is taken up in parliament.
Speaking at a press conference of the Socialist People's Front this morning in Colombo, Perera said that it will be August first week when the amendment will be debated in parliament.
SLFP had pushed for a 255 member parliament while the UNP had insisted on keeping the number of MPs to 225. The 20th Amendment Bill, which was gazetted yesterday, introduces an electoral system with 237 MPs.
