Sri Lanka Muslim Congress leader Rauff Hakeem demanded that the government should withdraw the 20th Amendment.
Speaking at a press conference in Kandy today, Hakeem pointed out that 22 minority parties unanimously decided to oppose the Gazette Notification of the 20th Amendment.
The 20th Amendment was not brought after necessary discussions. Unlike the 19th Amendment, there is no real consensus on the 20th Amendment, he said.
Meanwhile, JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake told media today that the 20th Amendment does not introduce electoral reforms the country needs at the moment.
