UPFA MP Manusha Nanayakkara stated that the document claiming to be the policy statement of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa for the 2015 General Election is a fabricated document.

 

Speaking to Asian Mirror, he said that the document which has been circulated in media has not been published by the former president or his supporters.

 

Those who are responsible must have done this to create a false impression that the SLFP is divided, Nanayakkara further said.

 

The document states that the country is going backwards after the defeat of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. It also includes a 12 point policy statement.

 

Mahinda Rajapaksa has repeatedly said that he intends to contest only from the SLFP or the UPFA for the next general election.
