The Frontline Socialist Party is planning to contest for the forthcoming general election from all 22 electoral districts.

This will be the first parliamentary general election from the party, which broke away from the JVP in 2011.

The FLSP contested for the Presidential Election held in January 2015. However,its candidate Duminda Nagamuwa recieved less than 10,000 votes.
