Jana Setha Peramuna leader Battaramulle Seelarathana Thera stated that his party will contest the upcoming general election alone.

He said that people should not send wrongdoers to parliament. Those who are responsible for corruption, drug smuggling, ethanol smuggling and other illegal activities should not be elected, he elaborated.

Furthermore, Seelarathana Thera asked if he is not suitable to be the Prime Minister. As a monk, he will not steal public property, he said, adding that his party will act in the same manner.

Seelarathana Thera also said that everyone should unite for the development of the country.
