A crucial meeting will be held this evening to discuss former president Mahinda Rajapaksa's candidacy in the upcoming Parliamentary Election, political sources said.

 

The meeting will be presided by President Maithripala Sirisena. UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayantha, SLFP General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and Nimal Siripala de Silva will also take part.

 

Mahinda Rajapaksa has already indicated that he will contest the next general election.
