Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa will not be given nominations from the SLFP, President Maithripala Sirisena told left parties yesterday.

Sirisena met several left parties yesterday and promised them of this fact.

Several smaller parties which supported President Sirisena during the presidential election have insisted that Rajapaksa should not be given nominations.

Meanwhile, the SLFP committee appointed to discuss with smaller parties met with a number of such parties yesterday.
