Several SLFP stalwarts left Colombo to met with former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, following their meeting with President Maithripala Sirisena last evening.

 

This group includes the General Secretary of SLFP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and General Secretary of the UPFA Susil Premajayantha.

 

Prolonged and torturous negotiations between President Maithripala Sirisena and several SLFP leaders ended with no clear conclusion last night.

 

Meanwhile, Rajapaksa is expected to formally launch the election campaign tomorrow from his home at Medamulana.
