Uva Province Chief Minister Harin Fernando questioned if President Maithripala Sirisena has forgotten the anti-Rajapaksa vote received by him in January.

 

Speaking at a press conference at Sirikotha UNP headquarters in Pitakotte, Fernando said that the 6.2 million people who voted for Maithripala Sirisena wanted the total rejection of Mahinda Rajapaksa.

 

In this backdrop, the current negotiations taking place between Sirisena and the SLFP leadership are questionable, Fernando said.

 

The Uva Chief Minister also said that Sirisena should remember those who worked tirelessly to elect him president.
