the All Island Canteen Owners Association has announced an increase in the prices of several popular food items, effective from today.

The price adjustments include a Rs 10 increase in the cost of a plain tea, a Rs 20 hike for a plate of Kottu, and a Rs 50 rise in the price of a packet of rice. These changes will be felt by consumers across the country and may impact the daily dining habits of many Sri Lankans.

This decision followed an increase in gas and fuel prices in the country.
