President Maithripala Sirisena stated that he is not a king but a public servant and that he has no favorations or divisions when he serves the people.
Speaking after religious activities at Sri Shakya Bimbarama Temple in Pulathisigama, Polonnaruwa last evening, he said that his main objective was to unite all people regardless of politics, community or religion, in order to bring about a better future for the country.
At an earlier event on the same day, Sirisena hit out at former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, saying that if he had left office, he should let him (Sirisena) work. Sirisena also said no one has sacrificed as much as him for the sake of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
