A meeting held in Balangoda yesterday to support the nomination of former president Mahinda Rajapaksda as Prime Minister saw two new faces.

UPFA PMs John Seneviratne and Pavithra Wanniarachchi, both from Ratnapura District, attended the meeting. Wanniarachchi were among the SLFP ministers who resigned on May 21.

Supporters of Mahinda Rajapaksa have been conducting rallies and small meetings throughout the country, demanding the naming of Rajapaksa as PM.

Seneviratne and Wanniarachchi had not attended these meetings prior to yesterday. However, Wanniarachchi was involved in the protest at the Parliament against the summoning of former president Rajapaksa to the Bribery Commission last month.
