South Africa’s former cricketer Jonty Rhodes will arrive in the island today for a brief stint with the Sri Lanka cricket team as a fielding coach.

The Sri Lankan cricket team, which had generally maintained high standards in fielding, has lagged behind during the recent past. It is expected that Rhodes will help lift fielding standards of the team before the crucial Pakistan series.

Furthermore, it is learned that Rhodes will coach the cricket coaches on fielding techniques as well.

Jonty Rhodes was best known for his excellent fielding skills as an international cricketer. In an international career spanning 11 years, he represented South Africa in 52 tests and 245 ODIs.
