UPFA party leaders will meet President Maithripala Sirisena this evening to discuss on a matter of importance, Lanka Sama Samaja Party leader Prof. Tissa Vitharana said.

He told Asian Mirror that the party leaders had requested a meeting with the president and he agreed to meet them as a result. However, Vitharana did not reveal what issues will be discussed in the meeting.

Commenting on the 20th Amendment, Vitharana said that they had submitted their proposal in writing. He also said that it has been informed that their suggestions were considered in preparing the draft.

The draft of the 20th Amendment is expected to be submitted for the approval of the Cabinet this evening.
