Former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said that the opposition will launch the first strike against the government on June 9 and that the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister will be presented to parliament on that day.
Speaking at a press conference at Abhayarama Temple in Colombo, Aluthgamage said that 85 MPs have already signed the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The parliament would not be reconvened under this government after June 9, Aluthgamage also warned.
Mahajana Eksath Peramuna leader Dinesh Gunawardena recently said that the opposition will have a UPFA member appointed as Prime Minister before the dissolution of the Parliament.
