Uva Province Chief Minister Harin Fernando stated that the Parliament will be dissolved by end of next week.

Speaking to BBC Sandeshaya, Fernando added that there was a sense of instability in the country as there is a minority government. That is why the UNP requests an election as soon as possible, Fernando pointed out.

He added that he has faith in President Maithripala Sirisena. He will dissolve parliament by end of next week, Fernando said.

When asked if the recent appointment of several ministers signified the continuation of the government for some time, Fernando said it was done to fill some vacated spots. He added that it was like making a few substitutions in a game.
