Colombo District Parliamentarian Sunil Handunnetti has been appointed as the JVP Chief Organizer of the Matara District.

In a media release, JVP said that this was done as a part of the reorganization process that is taking place in view of the forthcoming general election.

Handunnetti holds a degree in Business Administration from University of Sri Jayawardenapura. He was a Convener of the Inter University Student Federation during his university days. He was appointed to the Politburo of the party in February 2014.

Handunnetti is also the party’s Financial Secretary.

He has been an MP from October 2000.
