Former defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa stated that he is ‘truly delighted’ to see Colombo has been recognized as the fastest growing city for tourism by Master Card Global Index.

He made this statement through his Facebook Page yesterday. Rajapaksa also said that he considers it a “great honour and a privilege to have been able to contribute to Colombo's rapid development over the last five years”.

Rajapaksa also said that he will share some of his thoughts on the Urban Development work carried out by the previous government on his Facebook Page during the coming days.

“I sincerely believe that Sri Lanka still has tremendous growth potential, and I hope that we as a nation will soon have a more conducive environment through which to resume that growth” Rajapaksa also said.
