Cabinet Spokesman Dr Rajitha Senaratna stated that a final decision on the 20th Amendment will be reached regarding at the special cabinet meeting to be held on Friday.
Speaking at the Cabinet press briefing, he said that the current bill is not final and the meeting on Friday will decide on the bill.
Meanwhile, he claimed that the minority parties did not raise their voice properly on their reservations. Meanwhile several minority parties are meeting to discuss the 20th Amendment this afternoon.
The Cabinet on Monday (08) granted approval for a proposal put forward by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to elect 125 MPs from First Past the Post (FPP) system and 75 from Proportional Representation (PR) system. The remaining 25 members are to be elected from the National List.
