National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa accused the government of tampering with live broadcasts of the "Arise with Mahinda" rally in Matara last evening.
Speaking at the rally, Weerawansa said that the government used its control of Sri Lanka Telecom to block internet streaming. He reminded that the SLT Chairman is a brother of President Maithripala Sirisena.
However, he also said that the attempts of blocking the rally did not stop their voice from being sent out across to the local and international audience.
Meanwhile, a UPFA MP who took part in the rally told Asian Mirror last night that at one point no live streaming channels worked properly.
