Mahajana Eksath Peramuna leader Dinesh Gunawardena on Sunday (14) stressed that United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) is powerful enough to send Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe back home within 48 hours if it wants to.

If progressive forces unite, the UNP will not stand a chance, he said.

Addressing a meeting at New Town Hall in Ampara, Gunawardena stated that several acts to be introduced with the interim budget for 2015 are still to be passed in the parliament.

Gunawardena stated that these acts have to be passed within four months from the day the interim budget passed. Otherwise, these acts will be cancelled. But this government still does not show a concern about that fact, he claimed.
