Senior Lecturer of University of Colombo Dr Kumudu Kusum Kumara claimed that Minsiter Patali Champika Ranawaka and Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) attempts to spread racism in order to gain their personal future goals and that Ranawaka has a secrect agreement with the 'Mahinda Rajapaksa camp.'

 

In an interview with "Mawbima" newspaper he further said that if President Maithripala Sirisena allows them to carry on their mission within the government, it would cause huge damage to both president’s goodwill and the country’s future.

 

“Ranawaka disagreed with 17A and 19A but supported the 18A. Such acts clearly emphasize what his true intentions are. He just wants to protect the executive presidency as the way it is because he wants to be the executive president of Sri Lanka in 2020 with the help of Sinhala Buddhists of the urban middle class” Dr. Kumara asserted.

 

JHU appreciates the systems of military juntas and dictators in the world, Dr. Kumara added. He elaborated that if Ranawaka could fulfill his wishes democracy of this country will be in grave danger.

 

Dr. Kumudu Kusum Kumara also pointed out that through the media he could notice President Maithripala tended to follow instructions of JHU.
