The UPFA won the Laggala Electorate in Matale District with 26,748 votes (54.35%).

The UNP received 20, 867 votes and the JVP received 1,324 votes.

The UPFA had swept the Laggala Electorate in 2010, with 27,777 votes (74.66%). The UNP had received only 8,478 votes in 2010.

The UNP won the Colombo District postal votes with a wafer thin lead of 579 votes.

The UNP polled 11,446 votes (44.32%) while the UPFA managed to obtain 10, 867 votes.

The JVP managed to poll 3,087 votes.

In 2010, the UPFA won the postal votes in Colombo with 12,637 votes. The UNP had managed to obtain only 3,885 postal votes in 2010 from Colombo.

The UNP shocked the UPFA by comfortably winning the postal votes in Moneragala District.

The UNP managed to poll 8,503 votes while the UPFA was able to receive only 7,310 votes in the Moneragala postal votes.

The JVP received 1,413 votes.

The UPFA won the postal votes in Moneragala District comfortably in 2010 with 9,671 (77.53%) votes. The UNP received only 2,021 votes.

The Democratic Party led by Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka managed to obtain only 1226 votes from the Ambalangoda Electorate.

Ambalangoda is the hometown of Fonseka.

The UPFA won the electorate with 26,453 votes (48.77%) and the UNP received 22,671 votes. The JVP received 5,532 votes while the Democratic Party managed to obtain only 1,236 votes at 2.28 percent.

In 2010 the UPFA won the electorate with 26,210 votes (66.34%) and the UNP polled only 8,926 votes.

The UPFA won Ehaliyagoda Electorate, where Vasudeva Nanayakkara has been a key figure from 1970, albeit with a reduced majority.

The UPFA received 38,162 votes (53.21%) while the UNP received 31,211 votes. The JVP managed to receive only 2,057 votes.

In 2010, the UPFA carried the Eheliyagoda Electorate with 37,329 votes (70.55%) while the UNP received only 14,346 votes.

Vasudeva Nanayakkara was a key leader of the 'Bring back Mahinda' campaign in support of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi managed to win the election in Kayts Electorate, the stronghold of the EPDP led by Douglas Devananda.

The ITAK polled 7,688 votes (58.56%) while the EPDP received only 3924 votes (29.89%).

In 2010, the ITAK came second with 1,671 votes while the UPFA won Kayts with 6,441 votes (71.99%). The EPDP contested under the UPFA ticket in 2010.

Both UNP and the UPFA received under 500 votes in Kayts.

The UNP won the postal vote in Polonnaruwa District with 8,454 (57.45%) while the UPFA managed only 5,031 votes.

This is a complete turn-around from the election in 2010.

The UPFA had a comprehensive lead in postal votes in 2010 with 10,305 (75.36%) postal votes while the UNP won only 2,691 votes. Polonnaruwa is the home district of President Maithripala Sirisena.
